A bit about me

Yep, that's me!👆I actually find writing things like this really awkward.I can happily talk to someone for hours about tattoos, piercings, random life nonsense and anything else that pops into our heads, but ask me to write about myself and suddenly I know nothing. So let's start at the beginning...How it all started
I was never into body modification. I grew up in a strict household, so it wasn't something I aspired to look like, let alone do as a career. My first piercings were done when I was 7, with a gun, in a stock room at the back of a hairdressers. Because, well... "that's how things were done back in those days."And that was supposed to be it.Until I got a little older and decided I wanted second lobes and a scaffold piercing. The scaffold was inspired by a friend and I couldn't stop thinking about it. For my 16th birthday, I begged my parents. And begged. And begged some more.Eventually they gave in, and two weeks after my birthday I went off to what I thought was a good piercing studio. Looking back, hell nawh it wasn't.I thought that would be the end of it.Spoiler: it absolutely was not!Around 19, the piercings kept coming. I got my first tattoo just after turning 19, started stretching my ears not long after, and discovered I quite liked decorating myself. Then, after a year of searching, I landed a piercing apprenticeship. I couldn't be more thankful for that opportunity, and I finally felt like I belonged.Where I am now
I've genuinely lost count of how many piercings I have. I'm also at a funny stage where I'm removing some of my tattoos. I'm not the same person I was when I got them, and some hold memories I'm not so fond of.I think we forget that we're allowed to change, and I see this a lot with my customers. The things we love at 19 aren't necessarily the things we'll love at 27, 47 or even 67. We're constantly growing, changing our minds, and occasionally looking at something we did years ago and thinking..."WHAT THE ACTUAL F?!K"And that's okay.Life outside the studio
I'm a mum to my little boy, so life is a mix of running a business, being a mum, keeping on top of everything, and attempting to remember I'm a person outside of those two things.I've also recently found the gym. And by "found the gym", I mean I've discovered a new personality trait and I'm very invested in "getting them gainz."Before that, I was what I like to call a hobby collector. I'd discover something new, become completely obsessed, spend a very unreasonable amount of money on everything I could possibly need for said hobby......and then move on.Next hobby.Repeat.So far, the gym has actually stuck, which is honestly quite impressive. Why I love what I do
I've never really stayed exactly the same. I've changed my style, my interests and my careers. I've become a mum, started businesses, and abandoned A LOT of hobbies. I've gained tattoos and I've removed tattoos. I'm sure there's plenty more change to come.I think that's why I love this industry so much. Body modification is a personal snapshot of who we are at a particular point in our lives. Sometimes we want to add something. Sometimes we want to remove something. Sometimes we want to change something. And sometimes something that once felt completely "us" doesn't anymore.None of that means we made a mistake. It means we grew.Anyway, that's me - someone who somehow started with a pair of stock room gun piercings at 7 years old and ended up here.Funny how things turn out, eh?

Guns vs Needles debate
Piercing guns are often marketed as being quick, easy and apparently less scary than a needle.
Meanwhile, the thought of a needle going through your body can sound absolutely terrifying. But here's the thing, a professional piercing needle is specifically designed to pierce tissue. A piercing gun forces jewellery through it.The needle may look more intimidating, but it's sharp, sterile, single-use and is designed to create a controlled opening through the tissue.
A piercing gun uses the jewellery itself to force its way through the tissue, creating blunt force trauma.Sterility: The piercing needles I use are single-use and either EO gas sterilised then sealed in sterile packaging, or I autoclave them in house.
Piercing guns are made of plastic and can't be autoclaved so they're usually just wiped down with alcohol, which doesn't kill everything and can even damage the plastic components.Single-use: Needles are disposed of after one use, in special sharps bins. Piercing guns are reused on client after client, with only the cartridge/stud changed out. The gun itself still comes into contact with the skin, blood, and tissue fluid repeatedly.Training: Places that use guns often have staff with minimal training, sometimes as little as a short demo on a foam or cardboard ear.
My apprenticeship lasted over 24 months where I learned anatomy, cross-contamination control, and different techniques.
My training doesn't stop there either. I attend UKAPP Conferences to learn from the best in the industry and further my knowledge. I am also first aid trained and complete my bloodborne pathogens and infection control course annually.Tissue trauma: Needles are sharp and slice a clean path through tissue, allowing it to heal more predictably.
Piercing guns force a blunt stud through tissue quickly, which causes blunt force trauma. That means crushing and tearing cells rather than cleanly separating them. This leads to longer healing times, higher rates of complications, and increased risk of scarring.

Placement precision: Needle piercing allows careful marking and freehand adjustment before puncture. Guns are harder to angle precisely, which is part of why crooked piercings are common with gun use.Cartilage risk: The blunt force trauma and crushing force significantly raise the risk of infection, swelling, and even tissue death in cartilage, which already has poor blood supply. Cartilage can also suffer micro-fractures and structural damage, which is permanent.Body parts: Piercing guns are basically limited to earlobes (and sometimes upper ear cartilage or even nose). They don't work for septums, lips, eyebrows, navels, or anywhere else. A needle can pierce all those locations safely. No customisation for anatomy: A trained piercer examines your body part and adjusts angle, depth, and placement based on your specific anatomy. Guns are "one-size-fits-all", same angle, same force, regardless of how thick or thin your tissue is.Sharpness: With a piercing gun, the stud is the "needle", except it's not sharp at all. Piercing needles are designed in a way they create a clean cut.Jewellery choices: Guns always use cheap, short posts with butterfly backs. These are often too tight against a swollen fresh piercing, cutting off airflow and trapping moisture/bacteria. A needle piercing lets you start with a longer, implant-grade jewellery piece, sized properly for swelling. Butterfly backs also harbour so much bacteria compared to labret (flat-back) posts. No accountability/regulation: Piercing guns are often used in shopping centres and accessory stores with little to no environmental health department oversight, whereas licensed piercing studios have to follow bloodborne pathogen and sterilisation regulations.Force and speed vs control: Guns fire quickly under spring tension, so if the person flinches or the gun is misaligned, there's little room to stop or correct mid-piercing. A needle is pushed manually and can be paused, so the piercer has full control the entire time.Common myths
"Needles are more painful because they're sharp."
Exactly, a piercing needle is sharp and specifically designed for piercing tissue. It doesn't necessarily hurt more, in fact, it probably hurts less!A gun relies on force and a comparatively blunt piece of jewellery to pass through the tissue."A gun is better because it's faster."
Faster doesn't mean better. Good things take time!A piercing should be about controlled placement, appropriate equipment, hygiene and your anatomy, not how quickly the procedure is over."Guns are fine for lobes because they're soft."
Your earlobe is soft tissue, so it generally heals more easily than cartilage anyway, however, that doesn't mean the method used to pierce it isn't relevant.
The APP says that reusable piercing guns aren't appropriate even for earlobes."But I had all my piercings done with a gun and they healed perfectly."
Honestly, I'm glad, but a piercing healing well doesn't prove that the method was the safest or most appropriate option."A gun doesn't hurt as much because it's over so quickly."
Pain isn't a reliable measure of tissue damage.Something happening quickly doesn't automatically mean it's gentler on your body. Why do I use needles?
Because I want to be able to control every part of your piercing.
I can assess your anatomy, mark your placement, select jewellery appropriate for the piercing, account for swelling and use sterile, single-use equipment. You don't need to be brave enough to have a giant scary needle shoved through your ear. In fact, the needles are only 2in/5cm long and either 1.2mm or 1.6mm thick! The needle is the least scary part, honestly. The takeaway
So next time you say "ooohh, I could never have a piercing done with a needle!" or "omg I HATE needles!"
You need to ask yourself if you want a piercing done with sterile, single-use equipment and by someone properly trained, because if the answer is yes, a gun piercing will not provide that for you.
jewellery
Good jewellery makes a big difference to how well your piercing heals, so I only use high-quality, body-safe pieces. What I use
All my jewellery is implant-grade titanium or solid gold, and it's always internally threaded or threadless. That means no rough external threads scraping through your piercing, which keeps things smooth and comfortable.Gold
I stock 14ct and 18ct gold if you'd like to treat yourself to something special.Brands
I work with APP-verified brands, including:
Buddha Jewelry
Junipurr
NeoMetal
Anatometal
CanaSteel
InariI also stock some jewellery from brands that aren't APP-verified. Every piece I use is made from body-safe materials, and all of my titanium is ASTM F136 implant-grade, the same standard used for surgical implants. Combined with my own standards for finish and quality, you can choose with confidence. Can't see what you want?
I can order in pieces too. Just message me and we'll find something you'll love.Bringing your own jewellery
For safety and hygiene, I only pierce with jewellery from my own stock, so I can't use jewellery brought in by customers.I will also only install pieces from my own stock so that both you and I know where it's come from rather than putting mystery metals in your body. What does APP-verified mean?
The APP is the Association of Professional Piercers, a non-profit that sets safety standards for the piercing industry. Their jewellery standards cover what a piece is made from, how well it's finished, and how it's made, because cheap or poorly made jewellery can cause irritation, allergic reactions and slow healing.
When a brand is APP-verified, it has shown that its jewellery meets those standards.
Pricing

bookings
Booking ahead is the best way to make sure I've got time set aside just for you.
No rushing, no waiting around, and plenty of time for questions.Book online
You can book straight through my Setmore booking page
Prefer to chat?
You can also book by getting in touch with me on:
Or pop in
You're welcome to come into the shop and book in person. I'm at 13 New Post Office Square, inside Ink Therapy. What about walk-ins?
Walk-ins are only possible if I have availability on the day, so I'd really recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment.
I try to accommodate same day bookings where possible.
Booking fees and rescheduling
I know deposits aren't anyone's favourite topic, but they help me keep your slot reserved and cover the time I've set aside just for you.Deposits
A deposit of £10 per piercing is needed to secure your booking.
Your deposit comes off the total cost of your piercing on the day.
Deposits are non-refundable.Need to reschedule?
Life happens, and I get it! Here's how it works:
More than 72 hours' notice: your deposit simply moves over to your next appointment.
Within 72 hours: unfortunately the deposit is lost.Cancelling
Because deposits are non-refundable, cancelling means the deposit is lost.
Please only book once you're sure, as your slot is reserved just for you and I can't offer it to anyone else.Booking for a minor?
Please book with caution. If the piercing doesn't go ahead, the deposit is forfeited to cover my loss of earnings. The only exception is if the parent or guardian chooses to have something done instead in that moment.Running late?
Try your best to be on time, but please don't arrive ridiculously early either!
I can usually accommodate 5 minutes late. Any later than that and you may lose your deposit and need to rebook.Ordering in jewellery
If you'd like me to order something in especially for you:
A 50% payment upfront is needed, and please leave your contact details so I can reach you when it arrives.
The remaining balance is due when you collect it.
You then have 4 weeks to collect your item, unless we've agreed something different. If it isn't collected in that time, the 50% is lost.
preparing for your appointment
A little prep goes a long way towards a smooth piercing and a happy healing journey. Here's how to set yourself up on the day:
Eat beforehand. Piercing on an empty stomach is a fast track to feeling lightheaded.
Drink plenty of water.
Get a good night's sleep. A rested body copes much better.Alcohol and drugs
Please avoid alcohol and drugs for 3 days before your appointment, as they can make you bleed more. The same goes for afterwards, as drinking can make a new piercing bleed and swell more. So plan your piercing around your partying, not the other way round! What to wear
Choose something comfortable that you don't mind getting blood on, just in case you bleed. It's not common, but it's best to be prepared.Prone to fainting?
Totally normal, and nothing to be embarrassed about. Just mark it on your consent form so I can be ready and look after you properly.Photography and filming
Photos and videos are not permitted during piercing appointments. If you're found filming or photographing without permission, you'll be asked to stop, and repeated attempts will result in being asked to leave.
id requirements
What counts as ID?
Government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, a driving licence, a PASS card, or anything else the government issues that has your photo on it.Under 25? Bring ID!
If you're lucky enough to look under 25, please bring ID with you.
Take it as a compliment!Under 18?
Consent from a parent or legal guardian is needed for anyone under 18. If I have reason to believe the adult with you isn't your parent or legal guardian, I may refuse service and/or ask for photo ID for both the minor and the adult.Bringing a parent
If your last name is different from the adult's, please bring your birth certificate so I can see the link.Bringing a legal guardian
If you're with a legal guardian rather than a parent, please bring official paperwork showing their legal responsibility for you, such as:
A court order (for example a Child Arrangements Order or Special Guardianship Order)
Official documents from a local authority or social services, if the child is in care or fosteredPhoto ID for both the minor and the guardian is still needed.
Children's ear piercing
I offer ear lobe piercings for children aged 5 and up.
Everything I do is built around one thing: your child should want this, and feel safe and comfortable while it happens.Needles only, never guns
I use sterile, single use needles for every piercing, children's included.
They're cleaner, safer and more precise, and I'll always explain what's happening in a way your child understands.Ages 5 to 7: a chat first
Children aged 5 to 7 need a free consultation before they can book. Lots of kids think they want their ears pierced, but change their mind once they hear it hurts a little, and sometimes the idea has come from a grown-up rather than the child. I'd much rather find that out over a friendly chat than in the piercing chair. At the consultation, I'll talk your child through what happens and what it feels like, and answer any questions they have. Then you both go home and think about it. There's a minimum of 24 hours between the consultation and booking, so your child has time to sit with the facts and make up their own mind.Ages 8 and up
A consultation isn't required, but if you feel it would help your child, you're more than welcome to book one. It's free too.Booking a consultation
The easiest way is through my Setmore page. You can also just message me.
Consent matters here
I'll never pierce a child who isn't happy about it. If they decide it's not for them, that's completely fine, and there's no pressure to change their mind.On the day
A parent or legal guardian needs to stay in the room for the whole piercing. Your job is to help your child feel calm and comfortable. Please don't shout at them, or make them feel bad if they decide they don't want it done. Please also keep phones and tablets quiet, and no YouTube or videos playing out loud. It distracts me from my work, and I need to concentrate. Please see the ID requirements and booking fees and rescheduling sections for what to bring and how deposits work for minors.
aftercare
Looking after a new piercing is mostly about doing less, not more.
Here's everything you need to know to keep yours happy while it heals.
If you're ever unsure about anything, just message me. No question is too small!Cleaning
•Clean once a day for the first month. After that, only as and when it needs it, e.g. if you notice crusties.
•Gently clean with plain water or sterile saline solution. I sell bottles of sterile saline at the shop.
•Plain water doesn't always work for everyone, and sometimes sterile saline has to be used.
•No homemade saltwater solutions or "magic" healing solutions you may have at home or have seen in shops advertised as "quick healing".
•If you have crusties, let them soften naturally. Only remove them if they come away easily and without pain. DO NOT PICK AT CRUSTIES.
•Wash your hands before touching your piercing.
•Gently pat dry after cleaning. What's normal?
•Some redness, tenderness, swelling and clear/yellowish secretion (this forms crusties).
•Bruising and slight bleeding can also occur.
•Please remember, you had a needle put through your body, so expect it to be sore for a while.✅ Do
•Leave it alone
Only touch your piercing when cleaning it.•Sleep around it
A piercing pillow or travel pillow can make side-sleeping much more comfortable.•Keep the piercing dry
Always dry your piercings after cleaning and showering. Excessive moisture can cause bumps and other issues.•Come back for your downsize
This will help your piercing heal at the correct angle. It's charged at £2 per piercing.•Listen to your piercer
If you're unsure about something, message me. I'm happy to answer questions or concerns.•Check your jewellery
Once a week or two, check that your attachments are still secured properly. If you lose your jewellery within one week of getting pierced, I can replace it free of charge. After that, you'll have to pay for the replacement.❌ Don't
•Don't pick or pull crusties
If they don't come away easily, leave them alone.•Don't twist, spin or play with your jewellery
Excessive movement can cause irritation and microtears in the piercing channel.•Don't sleep on your piercing
Pressure can cause irritation, change the angle of the jewellery and lengthen healing time.•Don't use salt, creams or oils
Avoid homemade solutions and products marketed as "magic" piercing healing solutions.•Don't change your jewellery too soon
Your piercing can look healed on the outside before it's healed inside.•Don't rely on friends and social media for aftercare advice
If you're experiencing any issues with your piercings, or have any questions, please reach out to me.Your downsize
A downsize is when we replace your initial jewellery with a shorter bar once the initial swelling has settled. This helps reduce catching, movement and irritation, and helps maintain the correct angle while your piercing heals. Downsizes are charged at £2 per piercing.Your jewellery
I use, and stock, titanium or solid gold (14ct and 18ct) jewellery from verified suppliers, either internally threaded or threadless, and processed properly.Titanium and solid gold are ideal for healing as they are hypoallergenic metals. Jewellery containing nickel is what commonly causes reactions.I won't pierce you with your own jewellery or install jewellery that you bought yourself.
You wouldn't bring your own ingredients to a restaurant and expect them to cook them for you.
By buying jewellery from me, you're supporting my small business and you know you're getting jewellery from a trusted source.Tongue piercings
✅ Do
•Rinse your mouth out with water after eating food or drinking anything other than water.
•Brush your teeth as normal.
•Eat what you can, trying to stick to soft foods such as soup, rice, pasta etc.
•Come back for your downsize in 2 weeks. It's charged at £2 per piercing.❌ Don't
•Don't use mouthwash more than once a day, as this can irritate your piercing.
•If using mouthwash, use an alcohol-free one.
•Try your best not to play with your tongue piercing. Your teeth and gums will get damaged if you keep knocking the bar against them or running it along your teeth.
•Try to avoid eating long noodles and spicy foods.
•Try not to eat too much dairy, as this can cause an infection with an open wound in your mouth.Need help?
If I pierced you and you're worried about your piercing, please contact me before changing anything yourself. If you're experiencing any issues with healing, please get in touch:Instagram: @angsskinlab

WhatsApp only: 07486 385117Please don't rely on friends, family or social media for aftercare advice. If you're unsure, just ask me.When to see a doctor
Most piercings heal without any drama, but it's good to know what to look out for. Get medical advice from a GP, NHS 111 or a pharmacist if you notice:•Redness, heat or swelling that keeps spreading or getting worse after the first few days
•Pain that's throbbing, getting worse or not settling down
•Thick green or yellow discharge, or discharge that smells unpleasant
•Red streaks spreading out from the piercing
•A fever, or feeling generally unwellIf you have any of these, please also message me so I can help. Please don't take your jewellery out yourself before getting advice, as this can sometimes trap an infection inside.Call 999 or go to A&E if you have swelling that makes it hard to breathe or swallow (especially with tongue piercings), or if you feel seriously unwell.
FAQS
Got a question? Chances are someone's asked it before. Here are the ones I hear most. If yours isn't here, just message me!Does it hurt?
Yes, of course it does! You're having a needle put through a part of your body. It's quick though, and I'll talk you through every step so you know what's coming. But my mum's auntie's cousin's next door neighbour got their piercings done with a gun and they were fine!
I'm honestly glad they were! But one good experience doesn't mean it's a good method, and plenty of people do run into a lot of problems. Some common issues with gun piercings include:
•Blunt force trauma to the tissue, since guns push jewellery through rather than cutting a clean channel
•A higher risk of infection, as most guns can't be properly sterilised between uses
•Jewellery that's too short for fresh swelling, leading to embedding
•Increased pain and longer healing times compared to a needle
•A higher chance of complications like keloids or rejectionCurious about the difference in more detail? I've put together a separate page on the gun vs needle debate:
Can I go swimming?
Swimming is off the table for a minimum of 4 weeks. Keeping your piercing clean and dry while it heals is one of the best things you can do for it.Should I have a shower or a bath?
Showers are preferable to baths, especially for navel piercings. Remember to dry your piercing gently afterwards, as too much moisture can cause bumps and other issues.Do I take my piercing out when I clean it?
If your piercing is still healing, leave the jewellery in while you clean it.
The tissue inside your piercing is still healing, taking the jewellery in and out can irritate the area, delay healing and cause unnecessary problems.
You may also find that getting the jewellery back in is much harder than expected. Even if the outside looks healed, the inside can still be healing. Piercing can close surprisingly quickly! If you then come to see me, there’s a chance I may not be able to get the jewellery back in without causing further irritation.Jewellery should only really be removed once your piercing is fully healed. Even then, some piercings can close quickly, so don’t leave them empty for longer than necessary.Want your jewellery properly cleaned?
I also offer a jewellery cleaning service for a fee. I can remove the jewellery you’d like cleaned, properly clean the jewellery and the surrounding area, then put everything back in for you. It’s a great option if your jewellery needs a proper deep clean but you don’t want to risk removing it yourself, especially if you’re unsure whether your piercings are fully healed. My piercing has a bump. What is it and what do I do?
It's usually an "irritation bump", which, as the name suggests, is caused by some form of irritation. That could be touching it, sleeping on it, leaving it too wet without drying it properly, or accidentally catching or knocking it.The fix is to remove all irritants. Don't touch it at all, even during cleaning. Just spray the area with saline or clean water and gently pat dry, and make that the only time it's touched. This gets you back on track, and the bump should go away on its own within a few weeks. If the bump isn't going away or is getting bigger, the best option may be to take the jewellery out and let the piercing heal over. Please message me if you're worried, and see the next question if you're wondering about keloids. What are keloids?
A keloid is a raised, firm scar that keeps growing beyond the size of the original wound. They're different from irritation bumps and much less common. They tend to run in families, so if you or a relative have ever had one, let me know before you get pierced. A keloid can appear weeks or even months after a piercing, and it won't go away on its own, so if you think you might have one, get in touch and see your GP for advice. What is a downsize?
A downsize is an appointment where I put in a shorter bar. Once the initial swelling goes down, a shorter bar helps prevent catching on things and keeps the piercing channel at a straight angle, which helps the healing process. The timing is different for each piercing, so I'll let you know when yours is due (tongue piercings, for example, are 2 weeks). Downsizes are £2 per piercing. My cartilage piercing started swelling a week after I got it done and is tender. Is that okay?
Cartilage swelling can be delayed, but it usually only lasts a few weeks or months unless something is aggravating it. If it's getting worse, or you notice any of the signs in the "When to see a doctor" section, get in touch.I'm allergic to cheap metals. What do you use?
I only use implant-grade titanium or solid gold from trusted suppliers, and I can get certificates showing the metal composition if you need them. Both are hypoallergenic, and it's jewellery containing nickel that commonly causes reactions. I can't pierce you with your own jewellery. Is my piercing rejecting? Is it infected?
This gets asked far more often than it actually happens.Rejection is when a piercing migrates to the surface of your skin or changes from the angle and position it was originally pierced at. It's commonly called "growing out". In the rare cases where this happens, your jewellery should be removed safely by your piercer and the area left to heal.Infection is also less common than people think, and a doctor is the only person qualified to say whether something is infected. Please don't remove your jewellery before speaking to me and a GP, as if it's a genuine infection, removing it can trap the infection inside your body. Usually when people have these worries, irritation and swelling are the culprit, but if in doubt, get in touch!I got my piercing done elsewhere and it won't heal.
I offer free troubleshooting appointments to existing and new customers. If you were pierced elsewhere, I'm happy to assess the situation and give you advice. You can book through my Setmore page:
Laser tattoo removal
How does tattoo removal work?
Tattoo removal can feel like a mystery, so here's how it works. The laser
I use an active Q-switched Nd:YAG laser with nanosecond technology, with two wavelengths, 1064nm and 532nm. Different wavelengths are absorbed by different ink colours, so having both means I can treat a wider range of tattoos. The laser sends short pulses of energy into the skin, which break the tattoo ink down into tiny fragments.
Once the ink is broken down, your body flushes it out naturally. That takes time, which is why your tattoo fades gradually over the weeks after each session, rather than disappearing on the day.How many sessions will I need?
This is the question everyone asks, and the honest answer is: it depends! There are lots of factors, so I can't give you a definite number. As a rough guide, I usually aim for around 12 sessions, but that's not a promise. Results vary from person to person, and some tattoos fade faster than others. What affects how quickly it fades?
Ink colour: black and dark inks tend to respond best (more on this below).
How deep the ink sits: deeper ink can take longer.
Size and age of the tattoo
Your skin type
How well your body clears the ink: this is where you can help. Keeping healthy and drinking lots of water supports your body while it flushes the ink out. What about colour?
The Nd:YAG laser works best on black and dark inks. Colours can be trickier, and I can't guarantee that a coloured tattoo will be removed completely. Some colours may fade well, others may stick around, and I'll always be honest with you about what to expect before you start. One important note, colour tattoos can't be removed on dark skin. Removing colour requires the 532nm wavelength, which carries a risk of burns and pigment damage on darker skin tones, so it's not something I'm able to offer safely. Black ink removal using the 1064nm wavelength is unaffected by this and remains a safe option, however, the process is slower than on white skin to reduce the risk of hyper/hypopigmentation.Just want it faded?
You don't have to go all the way. If you'd like your tattoo lightened so it can be covered up with something new, I offer fading for cover-ups too. Have a chat with me about what you're after and we'll make a plan. How far apart are the sessions?
To begin with: a minimum of 6 weeks between sessions.
Then: the gap goes up to 8 weeks.
Later on: the gap goes up to 12 weeks. The gaps get longer because I use higher energy as we go, and your skin needs a proper break to recover between sessions.Eyebrow PMU removal too
I also remove eyebrow PMU (permanent makeup). If you're not happy with yours, get in touch and we'll talk through your options.Patience is key
Tattoo removal is a marathon, not a sprint. Every session gets you closer, and I'll be with you at every step. Any questions at all, just send me a message!

Here's a look at some results from my laser tattoo removal clients. Progress takes patience, and every photo here is proof that it's worth it. Remember, results vary from person to person, so these are examples of what's possible rather than a guarantee.Thinking about starting your own journey?

Consultations and patch tests
Before any laser treatment, everyone needs a consultation and patch test, completely free of charge. This isn't just a formality, it's an important step to make sure laser removal is the right path for you and that your skin responds safely. What happens at the consultation
We'll have a chat about your tattoo, your skin, your medical history, and what you're hoping to achieve. This is your chance to ask anything you like, and to make sure laser removal is suitable for you.The patch test
I'll test a small area of your tattoo with the laser to see how it reacts. You'll then need to wait 7 days before your first full session, so I can check your skin has responded well.Already having treatment on one tattoo, and want to start another?
Even if you're partway through removing one tattoo, any new tattoo you want lasered will need its own consultation and patch test first. Every tattoo and every area of skin is different, so this keeps things safe.Get in touch to book
Message me or book through my Setmore page to arrange your free consultation and patch test.

Booking fees and rescheduling
I know deposits aren't anyone's favourite topic, but they help me keep your slot reserved and cover the time I've set aside just for you.Deposits
A deposit of £10 is needed to secure your booking.
Your deposit comes off the total cost of your session on the day.
Deposits are non-refundable.Need to reschedule?
Life happens, and I get it! Here's how it works:More than 72 hours' notice: your deposit simply moves over to your next appointment.
Within 72 hours: unfortunately the deposit is lost, as it's too late for me to fill the slot.Cancelling
Because deposits are non-refundable, cancelling means the deposit is lost. Please only book once you're sure, as your slot is reserved just for you and I can't offer it to anyone else.Running late?
Try your best to be on time, but please don't arrive ridiculously early either! I can usually accommodate 5 minutes late. Any later than that and you may lose your deposit and need to rebook.
Preparing for your appointment
A little prep goes a long way towards a smooth session and the best possible results. Here's how to get ready:
Before you arrive
•Avoid exercise on the day of your treatment.
•Don't apply any products to the treatment area.
•Keep the area clean and dry.
•Don't shave the area beforehand.Sun and tanning
•Protect the treatment area from UV light and self-tanning products for 4 weeks before your appointment.
•If the area is exposed to the sun, use SPF 50.Broken skin or irritation?
If you have broken skin or inflammation in the treatment area, such as a rash, cut or injury, please get in touch before your appointment. I may need to rearrange until your skin has healed. What to expect afterwards
Straight after treatment, you might notice redness and a sensation similar to sunburn. Everyone's skin responds a little differently. For some, the area looks completely normal shortly after, while others may notice dryness, scabbing, or even blisters (although this is VERY rare). This depends on things like treatment intensity, how saturated the ink is, and your skin's sensitivity. It helps to keep a mental note, or even photos, of how your skin heals. This helps me plan your next session properly.Photography and filming
You're welcome to record black ink removal sessions, but please ask for permission beforehand. Unfortunately, colour removal sessions cannot be recorded, as the 532nm wavelength used can damage camera lenses.Bringing someone with you?
You're welcome to bring 1 person with you to your appointment. Please note the room is small, so space is limited. Anyone accompanying you must also be 18 or over, and may be asked for ID if they look under 25.Laser safety goggles
You'll need to wear laser safety goggles throughout your treatment, and anybody that comes with you. These fit over most prescription glasses, so there's no need to remove them beforehand if you wear glasses.Jewellery and piercings
Please wear minimal jewellery, especially near the area being treated. For example, remove any bracelets for treatment on your arm. What to wear
Wear something comfortable and loose around the area being treated. For areas that can't be fully undressed, such as the chest or bum, please wear light coloured clothing. This is because the laser targets dark pigment, so dark clothing nearby can interfere with your treatment.
id requirements
I ask for ID when you first visit, so I can check your age. Regulars don't need to show it every time.18 and over only
Laser treatment is strictly for adults. I'm unable to treat anyone under 18, no exceptions. What counts as ID
Government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, a driving licence, a PASS card, or anything else the government issues that has your photo on it.Under 25? Bring ID!
If you're lucky enough to look under 25, please bring ID with you.
Take it as a compliment!
aftercare
Following your aftercare properly is essential for the best results and to reduce the risk of complications like infection or scarring. Here's everything you need to know. If you're ever unsure about anything, just message me.What to expect
Along with redness and a sunburn-like feeling straight after treatment, it's also normal to notice some swelling in the days that follow, and itching for a few weeks. This is a normal part of your skin's healing response and should settle down on its own. Try not to scratch the area, even if it's itchy, as this can irritate the skin or increase the risk of infection if you create open wounds.Avoid excess heat
•Take tepid showers
•Avoid sweaty workouts for up to 72 hours after treatment.
•Avoid intense heat sources, such as saunas, for 14 days.
•For facial treatments, be cautious around intense heat from ovens or kettles.Avoid UV exposure
•Schedule hot holidays at least 3 weeks before or after a session.
•Avoid sun beds entirely while healing.
•If the treatment area isn't covered by clothing, apply SPF 50, even in winter.Keep the area clean and dry
Makeup can be applied to the treatment area after 24 hours, as long as the skin is fully intact. If scabbing occurs
•Don't rub or scratch scabs.
•Let scabs fall off naturally over time.
•Forcibly removing a scab can cause scarring. If blistering occurs
•Keep a record of the severity and how long it lasts.
•Keep blisters clean and dry.
•Don't pop a blister unless a doctor tells you to.
•If a blister does pop, apply antiseptic cream and keep the area dressed to avoid contact with clothing and other contaminants. •Change dressings frequently.Adverse reactions
Scabs and blisters aren't necessarily a cause for concern, but they do increase the risk of infection, which is why it's important to keep the area clean. If you have severe or prolonged pain, weeping from the area, or a fever, this may be a sign of infection. If this happens, please see your doctor for advice, as antibiotics may be needed. Please get in touch with me if you notice any adverse reaction, so I can support you and adjust your next session if needed.
faqs
Got a question? Chances are someone's asked it before. Here are the ones I hear most. If yours isn't here, just message me!It's been a day and I can't see any results!
That's completely normal, so don't worry. The laser only breaks the ink down, that's its job done after your session. You might even notice your tattoo's lines look thicker or a bit blurred at first, which is a normal part of this process.
Then it's down to your body to do the rest. Your lymphatic system gradually flushes out the ink that's been broken down, which is why fading happens over the following weeks, not immediately after treatment. My tattoo started itching a week after treatment. Is that normal?
Yes, completely normal. Itching can be delayed, and how intense it feels differs from person to person. Why did my tattoo go white, then back to normal?
This is completely normal and is called "frosting." It's a reaction between the laser and the metals in the ink. It fades back to how your tattoo normally looks shortly after treatment, although it varies from person to person, for some it's 5 minutes and for others it could even be an hour. Will I blister?
Unlikely. So far, none of my clients have blistered, and the laser doesn't cause open wounds. If you do notice any blistering, see the "Aftercare" section for what to do.Do I need to use anything afterwards?
A water-based moisturiser can help with itching, and ice packs are great for cooling the skin down. What does it feel like?
Think of an elastic band slapping against your skin. It's quick and manageable, and most people find it's not as bad as they expected. How long will my session be?
Shorter than you'd think! A 10x10cm tattoo removal session can genuinely take less than a minute. How will you manage my discomfort?
I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. I use a professional skin-cooling machine to help cool the area, I have stress balls if you need something to squeeze, and I'm always happy to give you breaks if you need one.Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you can bring 1 person, but please note the room is small. They'll also need to be 18 or over, and may be asked for ID if they look under 25.Can I get laser removal if I'm dark skinned?
Yes you can! The process will be slower though, since laser targets pigment, and dark skin naturally has more of it.
One important note, colour tattoos can't be removed on dark skin. Removing colour requires the 532nm wavelength, which carries a risk of burns and pigment damage on darker skin tones, so it's not something I'm able to offer safely. Black ink removal using the 1064nm wavelength is unaffected by this and remains a safe option.
Laser carbon facials
What is it and What does it help?
A carbon laser facial is a quick, non-invasive treatment designed to give your skin a fresh, smoother and more refreshed appearance. How it works
A carbon paste is applied to your skin, and a laser is then used to gently heat and remove the carbon. This helps exfoliate the surface, lifting away excess oil and impurities as it goes. What it can help with
•Excess oil and congestion
•The appearance of enlarged pores
•Uneven skin texture
•Dull-looking skin
•Mild blemishes and breakouts
•Fine lines and overall skin appearanceLittle to no downtime
This treatment requires little to no downtime, making it a great option whenever your skin just needs a bit of a refresh. How often can I have one?
Facials can be scheduled a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks apart, giving your skin time to settle between sessions.

Preparing for your appointment
No real prep needed here, just a few simple things to know before you arrive.Come bare-faced
Please arrive without makeup on. If you're wearing moisturiser or sunscreen, don't worry, I can wipe this off before we start. No full glam necessary!Facial piercings
Facial piercings need to be removed before treatment. If you'd like, you can book a jewellery removal session with me beforehand (standard fees apply). If they're left in, I'll need to leave a good amount of distance around the piercing, which means that area won't get treated.Pause active skincare beforehand
Please stop using skincare with active ingredients for 4 weeks before your appointment, especially retinol. These can increase your chances of getting burned during treatment.
ID Requirements
I ask for ID when you first visit, so I can check your age.18 and over only

aftercare
Following your aftercare properly helps you get the best results and keeps your skin happy while it recovers.First 24 to 48 hours
Cleanse gently: wait 4 to 6 hours after your session, then wash your face with cool or lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free cleanser. Pat dry gently.
Skip makeup: avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours, so your skin can breathe and recover.
Avoid heat: stay away from hot showers, steam rooms, saunas and anything that causes heavy sweating for 24 to 48 hours.
Moisturise often: use a gentle, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated and calm.Days 3 to 7
Wear sunscreen: apply SPF 30 or higher, and avoid direct sun exposure for at least a week.
Pause your active ingredient skincare: avoid retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, salicylic acid, vitamin C and exfoliating scrubs for 5 to 7 days, or until your skin feels completely normal again.
Let any flaking heal naturally: mild dryness or light flaking can happen. Don't pick, scrub or peel the skin.
FAQs
Got a question? Here's the one I get asked most. If yours isn't here, just message me!Does it hurt?
Not really! Most people describe it as a warm, slightly tingly sensation rather than pain. It's a comfortable treatment, and a big part of why it's so popular for a quick skin refresh. How soon will I see results?
Many people notice a fresher, brighter look straight after their session, with skin continuing to look smoother over the following days.Is there any downtime?
Little to none! You can get straight back to your day, just remember to skip makeup for 24 hours and keep an eye on the aftercare steps. How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your skin and what you're hoping to achieve. Some people love it as an occasional treat, while others prefer a course of sessions for more consistent results. Check out the package options in Pricing if you'd like to commit to a few.Can I wear makeup afterwards?
Best to wait at least 24 hours, so your skin has time to breathe and recover properly.

Can I get tattooed?
For your safety and to get the best results, there are a few situations where I'm not able to tattoo you. Please have a read through before booking.I can't tattoo you if you are:
•Under the age of 18
•Pregnant
•Under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol
•Recently on blood thinners, if you're due to come off them at some point (blood thinners can affect a tattoo, so it's best to wait until you've finished your course)
•Recovering from surgery (how soon I can tattoo you depends on how invasive the surgery was, so please get in touch to chat this through)
•Sunburned in the area you'd like tattooed
•Experiencing an active flare-up of a skin condition in the area you'd like tattooed
•If you're currently on antibioticsBreastfeeding or postpartum?
Breastfeeding: please wait a minimum of 12 months.
Postpartum (not breastfeeding): please wait a minimum of 3 months. Let your body recover first!
You may see other artist's with different rules around this, however, this is from my own research and own experience.
La Leche League is an international breastfeeding and information organisation. If you'd like to read more about tattoos and breastfeeding click the link below.
On long-term blood thinners?
If you take blood thinners long-term rather than for a short course, that's a different situation. Please get in touch so we can chat it through. Not sure if this applies to you?
Just message me and we'll chat it through. I'd always rather have the conversation beforehand than turn you away on the day.
Pricing
How pricing works
I charge per piece rather than by the hour, so the price we agree beforehand is based on the design itself, not how long it takes on the day. Pricing is based on the size discussed when booking, so please be as accurate as you can. If the design ends up larger on the day, this will incur an additional cost.Minimum charge
There's a £40 minimum charge on all tattoos, even if you're after something as small as a single tiny dot! It genuinely is one of the most affordable minimums around.Shorter sessions
Smaller pieces are priced individually based on the design you're getting. Get in touch with your idea and I'll quote you a price.Day sessions at Ink Therapy
If you'd like a full day of tattooing, day sessions usually run from 9am to 2pm at Ink Therapy, my base location, and are priced at £350, a discounted rate compared to booking pieces individually. Please note this price applies to day sits at Ink Therapy only. Longer day sits, guest spots and conventions are subject to their own pricing. How you can pay
•Cash (my preference)
•Bank transfer
•Ink Therapy vouchersVouchers must be valid and brought with you on the day of your appointment. They can only be used for appointments at Ink Therapy.
Bookings
Tattoo bookings work a little differently to my other services, since every piece is quoted individually first. How it works
•Get in touch with your idea, and I'll give you a quote.
•Happy with your quote? I'll send you a private Setmore link so you can check my availability. Tattoo bookings aren't visible to the public, so you'll need this link to see them.
•Found a date that works for you? Pay your deposit by cash or bank transfer to confirm your booking.
Get in touch for your quote
Or pop in
You're welcome to come into the shop and book in person. I'm at 13 New Post Office Square, inside Ink Therapy. What about walk-ins?
It's always best to book to avoid dissapointment. Sometimes I will have time for small things, but I always prefer bookings so I'm not being rushed about or surprised on the day.
Booking fees and rescheduling
I know deposits aren't anyone's favourite topic, but they help me keep your slot reserved and cover the time I've set aside just for you.Deposits
Your deposit depends on the price of your piece:Up to £140: £40 deposit
£140 to £300: £60 deposit
£300 to £350+: £100 depositYour deposit comes off the total cost of your tattoo on the day.
Deposits are non-refundable.Need to reschedule?
Life happens, and I get it! Here's how it works:
More than 72 hours' notice: your deposit simply moves over to your next appointment.
Within 72 hours: unfortunately the deposit is lost to cover my loss of earnings.Cancelling
Because deposits are non-refundable, cancelling means the deposit is lost. Please only book once you're sure, as your slot is reserved just for you.Running late?
Try your best to be on time, but please don't arrive ridiculously early either! Please bear in mind that the later you arrive, the less time we'll have for your session, which may mean we're not able to finish the whole piece in one sitting. You'll still need to pay for the session in full, and anything left to complete will need to be booked and paid for separately.
Design process
When do I do the design?
I usually create your design a day or two before your appointment. Diamonds are made under pressure, after all! Designs are done in appointment order, so please don't expect yours to be ready weeks in advance. If your appointment isn't for a while yet, your design simply isn't due yet either.Seeing your design beforehand
To protect my artwork, I don't usually send designs out ahead of your appointment. If you'd like to see it in advance, or if I have questions about your idea that need sorting out first, I'm happy to send it over.No design without a booking
I won't create a design unless you have an appointment booked in. This keeps things fair for everyone in the queue and protects the time I put into each piece.Tweaks on the day
Small tweaks to your design are no problem at all, that's a normal part of the process. What I can't accommodate is turning up and deciding you want a completely different idea altogether. If this happens, you'll be turned away and your deposit will be lost, as it isn't fair on the time I set aside for you.
How to prepare for your appointment
A little prep goes a long way towards a smooth session and a great-looking tattoo.Alcohol
Please avoid alcohol for at least 48 hours before and after your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood, which can cause excessive bleeding during the session, make your skin harder to work with, and affect how well the ink settles. Drinking during early healing can also increase swelling and redness, slow healing, and prolong irritation while your tattoo is still fresh. Before you arrive
•Please shower before your appointment.
•Gently exfoliate and moisturise the area in days leading up to your appointment.
•Stay hydrated! Drink plenty of water before, during and after your tattoo.
•Eat within a couple of hours before your appointment. An empty stomach is the main cause of fainting or feeling unwell.Shaving
You're welcome to shave the area beforehand if you like, just be careful not to irritate the skin. Although I prefer to do this for you on the day.Sun exposure
Please avoid sunbeds or sunbathing for 7 days before your appointment. Please also avoid UV exposure as your tattoo is healing.
What to bring
Snacks and drinks
Bring whatever you like to keep you going. We're right in the town centre, so if you fancy popping out for a meal deal or something to drink partway through, that's absolutely fine.Comfy clothes
Wear something comfortable that you don't mind getting splashed with ink as it can happen.
For leg tattoos, shorts work best.
For back tattoos, a hoodie worn backwards is perfect for easy access.
If you're not sure what to wear, message me beforehand!Entertainment
Bring your phone, tablet, laptop, or even a book. Plenty of clients have "worked from home" during their session. If you're using a device, I just ask that you keep the volume down, especially for TikTok or reels, as it can get a bit much for me to have that playing throughout.Headphones
Feel free to bring headphones if you'd rather watch or listen to something privately.Home comforts
Want a pillow, blanket, hot water bottle, or anything else to make yourself comfortable? Bring it along, whatever helps you relax.Need to change or want some privacy?
The studio is open plan, but I'm happy to let you use the piercing room if you need more space to change. If you'd prefer some privacy during your session, just ask, I can bring out a privacy screen.Bringing someone with you?
You're welcome to bring 1 person with you to your appointment. Please note children aren't allowed to stay for tattoo appointments.Whoever you bring is welcome to make themselves comfortable too, but the same respect goes both ways - if your guest is being disruptive or noisy, they may be asked to leave.
Your arrival
Consent forms
To make things quicker on the day, your consent form is sent to you digitally 2 hours before your appointment. If you're not comfortable with tech, don't worry, we have paper consent forms as a backup, so just let me know and we'll sort it out when you arrive.Getting here
By car: there's plenty of parking in the town centre, but please check the parking fees that apply, as these vary depending on where you park.
By bus: buses run into the town centre, making it easy to reach without a car. Please double check your own route and transport before your appointment, especially around bank holidays, as services can run differently or be cancelled altogether. Missing your appointment due to transport issues counts under my standard rescheduling and deposit policy, so it's worth confirming in advance.Accessibility
The studio is wheelchair accessible. If you need a hand getting through the door, just let me know and I'll help you in.When you arrive
Please let us know at front desk that you've arrived for your appointment, then take a seat on the couch and get comfortable, I'll call you through to my chair when I'm ready for you. Before we start
We'll go over your stencil design together, and if needed, make any tweaks. Once you're happy, I'll size it up, print it, and place it ready to begin.Photography and filming
You're welcome to take photos or videos during your tattoo appointment, but please ask first. I'd also ask that you try to keep me out of the shot where possible.
Breaks
Need a breather?
Just ask! You're welcome to take a break whenever you need one, I just ask that you speak up, as I can get properly in the zone and might not naturally think to stop. I could probably do a full day session without a break if was left to my own devices, so don't be shy about saying something. My breaks
I'll sometimes need a short break too, usually around 5-10 minutes, to stretch, have a drink, go toilet, etc.Longer breaks
I'd rather avoid breaks of 20 minutes or more, as they can interrupt the flow of the session. If you know in advance that you might need a longer break, for any reason, just let me know beforehand and we can plan around it.
TOUCH UPS
Wait until it's fully healed
Please allow your tattoo to fully heal before deciding whether it needs a touch up. This usually takes at least 6 weeks, and touch ups should only be considered once healing is complete.Your first touch up
Your first touch up is free within 12 months of your appointment, as long as the tattoo has been properly cared for during healing. When touch ups are chargeable
If a touch up is needed because of picking, scratching, sun exposure, poor aftercare, or anything else that's affected healing, this will be chargeable rather than covered under the free touch up.Getting more tattoos?
If you're planning on getting more work done, please book your touch up in at the same time. It saves on setup, keeps costs down, and means we're not using materials twice over for no reason. A little planning goes a long way!Multiple pieces, one setup
If you've got more than one tattoo by me and another piece also needs a small touch up, I'm usually happy to sort both while I've already got everything set up.Missed or late-cancelled touch ups
If you miss your free touch up appointment, or cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, a £20 non-refundable deposit will be required to book your next one. This just helps cover the time set aside for you.
ID requirements
I ask for ID when you first visit, so I can check your age. Regulars don't need to show it every time.18 and over only
Under the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969, it's illegal to tattoo anyone under 18, even with parental consent. I'm unable to make any exceptions to this. What counts as ID
Government-issued photo ID, such as a passport, a driving licence, a PASS card, or anything else the government issues that has your photo on it. Please bring this with you to your appointment.
Aftercare
Looking after your tattoo properly is essential for how it heals and how it looks once it's settled. Here's everything you need to know. If you're ever unsure about anything, just message me. No question is too small!Your dressing
Clear adhesive bandage/second skin
Try to keep your original dressing on for 3 to 5 days, unless it becomes loose, excessively full of fluid, leaking, or irritating your skin.
If I've given you a replacement dressing, you can remove the original after 3 days and apply the replacement as instructed. A replacement dressing can generally stay on for up to 7 days, as long as your skin feels comfortable and it's still properly sealed.Cling film
Remove after a maximum of 2 hours. Do not reapply cling film.Absorbent pad
Try to keep the pad on for approximately 2 to 4 hours, or as I've advised.Removing your second skin
Gently peel the dressing off, taking your time. Don't rip it off! If it's dried onto the tattoo, let warm water loosen the adhesive first, either under a warm running tap or during a warm shower. You can also remove it dry, but this might take longer or feel a little uncomfortable. Find whatever works best for you.Cleaning your tattoo
Once your dressing is off:
•Wash your hands thoroughly.
•Gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water.
•Use clean fingertips to gently remove any remaining blood, plasma, ink or residue.
•A mild, fragrance-free soap can be used if I've recommended one. Avoid harsh, heavily fragranced or exfoliating products.
•Rinse thoroughly.
•Pat dry gently using a clean paper towel or freshly washed towel.
•Let your tattoo air dry completely before applying any moisturiser.Moisturising
Once your tattoo is clean and completely dry, apply a very thin layer of your recommended tattoo moisturising balm. I'd recommend cocoa butter. Only use products I've recommended or approved, and I sell aftercare products at the shop. Do not use Bepanthen, Vaseline or nappy creams on your tattoo. You want your skin to feel moisturised, not greasy, wet or suffocated. I'd recommend moisturising around 3 times a day, though your tattoo may need a little more or less depending on how your skin is healing.During the first 2 to 4 weeks
✅ Do
•Keep your tattoo clean.
•Wash your hands before touching it.
•Wear clean, loose clothing where possible.
•Keep the skin moisturised.
•Let the tattoo breathe.
•Allow your skin to heal naturally.
•Contact me if you're concerned about how it's healing.
•Clean your tattoo after exercising, to get rid of sweat.
•Tap your tattoo gently to help with the itch during healing.❌ Don't
•Pick, scratch or peel your tattoo.
•Pick at flakes or scabs.
•Soak your tattoo in water.
•Swim while your tattoo is healing.
•Use sunbeds or expose your fresh tattoo to prolonged sunlight.
•Apply perfume, fragranced products or harsh skincare to the area.
•Let dirty hands, clothing or equipment come into unnecessary contact with it.
•Do strenuous exercise, particularly during the first few weeks.Your tattoo will be itchy while it heals, but please don't deliberately scratch it, or remove peeling skin or scabs. If they form, leave them alone and let them come away naturally. When is my tattoo healed?
Everyone heals differently. Your tattoo may look settled on the surface after a few weeks, but deeper layers of skin can carry on healing for considerably longer. I generally assess tattoos at around 6 to 8 weeks if a touch up is being considered, and I'll let you know if your skin is ready for any further work.Your free touch up
I want you to be happy with your tattoo, which is why it includes a free touch up within 12 months of your original appointment. Poor aftercare, picking, or deliberately interfering with healing can affect your eligibility for this. If you're unsure whether something needs touching up, just ask! Before booking a touch up, I'll first check whether one is actually needed. If you're planning on getting more tattoos by me, I can do the touch up at the same time, saving on multiple set ups and saving you extra trips.Still worried?
If something doesn't look or feel right, please get in touch. I'd much rather you ask a question than sit at home worrying, or ask friends, family or social media for advice.
faqs
Got a question? Chances are someone's asked it before. Here are the ones I hear most. If yours isn't here, just message me!My mum's happy for me to get tattooed at 17, is that okay?
I'm afraid not, even with parental permission. Under the Tattooing of Minors Act 1969, it's illegal for me to tattoo anyone under 18, no exceptions. Can I get a tattoo while pregnant?
No, I'm not able to tattoo anyone who is pregnant. Can I get tattooed whilst breastfeeding?
I personally recommend waiting until your baby is 12 months old before getting tattooed. La Leche League have a brilliant resource page on this topic if you'd like to read more.
I've used Bepanthen on my tattoos before and it was fine, can I use it again?
I'm glad it worked out for you, but it's still not something I recommend. Please stick to the aftercare guidance I give you, as it's based on what I know keeps tattoos and skin healthy while healing. Can I bring an AI generated design?
I'd rather you didn't. AI doesn't understand how tattoos actually work on skin, and designs made this way can set you up for unrealistic expectations that just aren't achievable as a tattoo. I'd much rather work with you directly to create something that'll genuinely look great and age well.Do you do group bookings?
Absolutely! Whether it's matching tattoos with friends or a full-on tattoo party, get in touch and we'll have a chat. These can sometimes be scheduled outside my normal opening hours to give the group more space and time. What payment method do you prefer?
Cash, always.
But I also accept bank transfer.
